“Commitment is what transforms a promise into reality” Abraham Lincoln
How do I improve my life?
That’s the question most of us ask when we feel stuck. how do I improve my life?
Is it really that hard to find the way through change? Well, it can be if we don’t know where to start. But it can also be quite easy to improve your life if you just take it one step at a time and look for answers in the right places.
It all starts with a good mindset and the willingness to make a shift in the way we experience life.

1- Don’t be too hard on yourself.
We often throw ourselves in an endless cycle of self-sabotage and guilt. That’s not helpful when we are trying to make a change and get a positive outcome. Self-sabotaging can make one feel worthless and powerless. Try to seek help if you find yourself going through that loop. Try to shift your focus to positive things that you already have in your life. Things like your health, the roof over your head, your family…etc
2- prioritize your mental health.
Never ignore how you feel. Seek professional help if you need to, or speak to someone you trust. Every little emotion you ignore will add up and become something big you won’t be able to handle, just like the snowball effect. Great success starts with a healthy mind.
3-Practice meditation
Meditation is proved to be one of the best practices one can implement in their daily life. It’s an exercise to the mind and soul. It can help relax the body and release toxic energy. If you find it hard to meditate on your own, join some meditation classes near you. They can guide you and show you the right way to meditate.
4-Find a new hobby
A hobby can help divert your attention away from negative thoughts. It can bring a sense of self and help boost your confidence. Try something like hiking, planting, crocheting…etc
5-reflect on yourself
Find your strengths and weaknesses and then embrace your strengths and work towards strengthening your weaknesses. We often don’t realize how beautiful and strong we are inside. We tend to minimize our self-worth. It’s time to change that. It’s the time we say we are beautiful and we are worthy and strong. 6-Address your problems and traumas
After you self-reflect, find your way through healing. Face your hidden trauma and start working on yourself. Reverse your weaknesses into strengths and use them as a weapon. Don’t let your past experiences define who you are.
7- cut the negativity from your life
Anything that brings negativity can definitely ruin your life and drain your energy. It can be people who are taking up so much space in your head or even items you keep holding onto just because they remind you of someone who no longer exists in your life. LET GO, declutter your house, your phone, the negative people…etc
When you declutter everything from your head and space, you’ll make room for better things to enter your life. You’ll see positive change once you take this step. Don’t be afraid to make this your new resolution. Anything that brings drama and bad energy into your life is not worth any space in your life.
8-brain storm ideas
It’s time for a pen and paper now that you’ve decluttered your head. Watch new ideas flow and start brainstorming. Immediately write any idea that pops up in your head. Soon enough, you’ll find out what you really want.
9- find your passion and start working towards it
After you brainstorm your ideas, you’ll find exactly what you’re passionate about. That’s called finding your element. Doing something you love can boost your confidence and give you something to look forward to every day.
10-set realistic and clear goals
Take it one step at a time. If you set unrealistic goals, you’ll end up feeling burnt out. Success doesn’t come overnight but rather over time. Set a goal and stick to it till the end. Give yourself time and know exactly what outcomes you want from that goal.
11-be flexible in your approach
Life happens and your goals might seems unachievable if you’ve already come up with a specific plan. But let me tell you, you can change your approach but you should never change your end goal. Change the route you’re taking even if that means it’s going to take longer. It’s okay, you’ll get there eventually, I promise!
12-invest in courses and build your experience
Taking courses that are related to what you want to achieve can set you ahead of the game. There are people out there who have been through your path and they know things and secrets that can help you achieve your goals faster.
13-build strong connections
The best way to succeed in your life is through strong, consistent relationships. Find your people and build your network. The right people will bring out the best in you while the wrong ones will destroy you intentionally or unintentionally.
14- Don’t compare yourself to others
instead, compare yourself to who you were and what you’ve become and work towards becoming a better version of yourself in the future. It can be tempting to see others’ successes and achievements and start comparing ourselves to them. But the reality is, everyone will get what they deserve when it’s the right time.
You just need to trust the journey and the timings of your life. You’ll get there before you even know it. Enjoy the journey because that’s what matters the most.
16- Take the risk or lose the chance
Chances can come once in a lifetime, hold on to them when they come. Don’t worry about how you’re going to do it, jump and you’ll figure it out along the way. Don’t be afraid to take risks and move out of your comfort zone. That’s where real success is found.
17- Spend less and save more
While spending money on things you love is a necessity if you do find happiness in doing so, you must always remember to save a portion of your income for future investments. Come up with a plan on how you’ll be spending and saving your money.
Find your own balance and commit to it. Don’t be tempted to spend just because you feel bored or just because you do have enough money. Your future is not promised. Be mindful and be the captain of your ship.
18- Don’t take yourself too seriously.
Be humble and lower your expectations about yourself. Be open to more ideas and stop being a perfectionist. If you find yourself trying to figure it out all by yourself then you might actually be taking yourself too seriously. Leave room for mistakes and have faith that the right things will come at the right time.
If you want to stop taking yourself seriously you need to start understanding that life doesn’t revolve around you and that you’re not special (although you’re special in your own way!).
When we stop taking ourselves too seriously, we start laughing at our own mistakes. And we start living in the present.
19- be grateful for what you already have.
You do have a lot, more than you can think of. Start counting your blessing because that’s when you realise how wonderful your life is and how much you were actually missing when you were focusing on what you don’t have.
20- reward yourself
Always remind yourself that you deserve the best and you’re good enough. One way to do that is by rewarding yourself. Take yourself on a date, buy yourself some roses, have a spa day. Give to yourself what you wished others have given you.
And that is how you can start improving your life. It will only take you one first step which is usually the hardest step. Remember, it’s all about consistency and commitment. Without these two, you won’t go so far. Take the decision NOW because you are not promised tomorrow.
