
focaccia bread
Ingredients
- 4 cups flour (any type)
- 1 tbsp instant yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups warm water
- olive oil
Instructions
preparing the dough
- in a large bowl, add the flour, salt, yeast and water and mix them all together
- ensure there are no lumps left
- drizzle some olive oil on top of the dough
- spread the oil across the dough to prevent it from drying out on the fridge
- cover with a plastic film and refrigirate for 18 hours or overnight
the next day
cooking the bread
- drizzle some olive oil on a large cooking tray
- place the dough on the baking tray, cover it and let it rest for at least 30 minutes
- meanwhile turn on the oven at 180 celcius/ 356 Fahrenheit
- dimple the dough with your hand to create a nice looking bread
- add you toppings, you can use cosher salt, olives, some herbs. up to you!
- move the baking tray into the oven and bake for 35 minutes or until the bread is golden brown
- remove from oven and let it cool down a bit
- serve warm with breakfast or tea
